Motor Mouth Camp is an immersive communication program for children who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), helping them build confidence, connection and the ability to express themselves.
Motor Mouth Camp is proudly supported by the Morning Sunshine Foundation.
Bringing together children, families and communication specialists, the camp creates a supportive, play-based environment where every child is understood and every voice is valued.
For 15 years, Motor Mouth Camp has supported children across Western Australia to develop their communication skills and connect with others on a similar journey. Since it began, the program has supported hundreds of children and families, building a community grounded in understanding, shared experience and inclusion.
In 2026, the program expands to include two camps - with an additional April camp made possible through the support of the Morning Sunshine Foundation.
What is Motor Mouth Camp?
Motor Mouth Camp is a three-day program designed around real-world communication experiences.
Children use AAC in everyday situations - making friends, participating in activities and expressing themselves in a safe and supportive environment.
Families are supported alongside their children through shared learning, practical guidance and connection with others navigating similar experiences.
What participants gain
Motor Mouth Camp supports both children and families, helping to build: • Confidence to communicate in real-life settings • Stronger social connection and friendships • Greater independence and participation • Practical skills to support AAC use at home
Who Can Apply?
Motor Mouth Camp is designed for children who use AAC and would benefit from building their communication skills in a supportive, real-world environment.
Applicants must live in Western Australia and attend with a parent or carer.
